The paper analyzes scientific publications and own data of the authors on the number of breeding pairs of Lesser Spotted Eagle (Aquila pomarina) in Kyiv Region of Ukraine. Over the period 1988 – 2015 a total of 12 nests were found and, in addition, 86 territorial pairs were counted (80 of them after 2000). It is concluded that the local breeding population of this species was sufficiently stable within the analyzed period. The total number of Lesser Spotted Eagle in the region is estimated as about 100 - 120 pairs.
