Summer observation of Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica) in the Crimea

Today, the Bluethroat rarely occurs in the Crimea only during migrations. The nearest nesting places are in the steppe zone of Ukraine. Four birds of this species (perhaps, a male and three nestlings) were recorded 9 and 10 August 2005 near the Karadag Natural Reserve in the northwest of the village Kurortnoe (Feodosia district).
