A survey of some breeding waterfowl counting methods on fishponds

Present paper contains the detailed analysis of present waterfowl counting methods during breeding season and the estimation of use of those for the study of fishpond's avifauna. The combined version of mapping method for marshland habitats is proposed for long-term monitoring researches, and the two-check method is suggested for rapid inspection of maximum number of fishpond complexes. The optimal census terms and main criteria for numbers estimation of the some waterfowl species are also considered.
