The first flight of Barn Owl (Tyto alba alba) into Melitopol region in winter 2002.

Description of colouration and sizes of a migratory Barn Owl (Tyto alba) is given in the article. The Owl was perished 24 December 2002 on the highway at the village of Chernozemnoe near the town of Melitopol. This was the first observation of Barn Owl in the south of Ukraine. Its subspecies was not exactly determined. Probably it was T. a. alba or T.a.englari.
