Distribution and number of Marsh Harrier in the Ingul river basin.

The data were gathered during the field season 2002. The total length of the route was 2,235 km.

The Ingul river and its tributaries were totally surveyed, including 65 ponds and 1 water-storage reservoir. 94 pairs and 158 plots available for breeding were counted. Taking into account the non-investigated areas (136-154 pairs) the total number of Marsh Harrier for all the Ingul river basin (9.8 thousand of km) is 338-406 breeding pairs.
