Kolomiychuk V.P.

The peculiarities of flora and distibution of vegetation on Chongar Islands are considered. The salina plant association is dominated by formations of Salicornieta europaeae, Suaedeta prostratae and Artemisieta santonicae. Remarkable are poorness and small diversity of flora. Location of main bird settlements and distribution of colonies on the island are considered in respect to the vegetation cover It is proposed to raise the conservation status of islands in the Chongar strait and include them into the area of the created Sivash National Park.
