New data on some birds of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions

The communication presents new data on some bird species, including those listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine. The data were collected during the survey in the northern part of Donetsk and southern part of Lugansk Regions in 2011-2013. The following species are considered: Anser fabalis, Cygnus cygnus, Tadorna ferruginea, Aythya nyroca, A. marila, Bucephala clangula, Pandion haliaetus, Pernis apivorus, Milvus migrans, Buteo rufinus, B.vuteo, Hieraaetus pennatus, Accipiter brevipes, Falco vespertinus, Circus pugargus, C.macrorus, Aquila clanga, Haliaetus albicilla, Anthropoides virgo, Numenius arquata, Otus scops, Lanius excubitor. The collected data reveal a westward expansion of the range of Saxicola torquata variegata andnorthward of Emberiza melanocephala. This material was reported at the conference "Research and Conservation of Birds of the Seversky Donets Basin" (Luhansk, 27-29.09.2013).
