A new observation of the Rustic Bunting (Emberiza rustica) in Ukraine

Until 2011, in Ukraine it was known the only one fact of shooting, 1 capture and 3 observations of single individuals of the Rustic Bunting (Emberiza rustica), a part of recent finds is doubtful. Two individuals, staying together, were observed by us 13.02.2011 at the margin of “Kardashynske Bog”, near the village of Kokhany (Gola Prystan district, Kherson region 46.31.30”N, 32.37.08”E ). Birds were observed and photographed from the car’s window at the distance of approximately 5 m.
